Blends well with: Basil essentil oil blends well with Bergamot, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Lime, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Lemon, Neroli, and Rosemary.

Aromatic Scent: Clear, herbaceous and light refreshing with a faint balsamic woody backnote and a lasting sweetness.

History: In Greek its name means 'royal remedy' or 'king'. Although called French Basil, the plant is native to Asia and Africa. In the 16 th century, powdered basil was used to treat migraines and chest infections. The Hindus also use sprigs of Basil to protect the dead from evil spirits while in transition between lives.

How to Use Basil Essential Oil:

  • In the bath add 2-3 drops of basil essential oil to a natural emulsifier such as a base oil, cream, honey, liquid soap or sea salts.
  • To create a body, massage or bath oil, blend 5 to 15 drops of either just basil oil or a combination of different essential oils into 50 ml of a base oil.
  • To experience the aromatherapeutic benefits, add a few drops of basil oil to a bowl of hot water and inhale the healing steam.
  • You can also use the oil in a fountain, burner or diffuser.

Cautions: May irritate sensitive skin. Do not use during pregnancy.
